CD Projekt RED has released a statement announcing that “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” next-gen version will be released on December 14, 2022. For those who have already purchased the game, this update will be free. This next-gen version will be installed as a patch that will be released separately for each platform, including the Nintendo Switch.

The developers have promised that they will reveal some details about the PS5 and Xbox Series versions during streams next week. Also in the statement, they promised to show a video with the gameplay of the next-gen update. The update will also affect The “Witcher 3: Wild Hunt extensions”: “Hearts of Stone” and “Blood and Wine”.

The main improvements in the game are focused on improving the quality of graphics and performance. It will also add support for ray tracing, faster loading and other technical innovations. In addition, new content for the game based on “The Witcher” series should be shown next week. This content will be given to players who purchase the Nintendo Switch game. There is no word yet on a release date for this content.

This time, CD Projekt RED kept their promise and didn’t delay the release of the next-gen update of the game until next year, despite the difficulties in changing the development team.
