Became known details about the development of a new Survival Game from Blizzard

Became known some details about the development of a new game from Blizzard in the genre of survival. The company said that Craig Amai, who moved from the World of Warcraft team, has been leading the project since 2017. Under his leadership, the development team has already put together a working build of the game, which Blizzard CEO Mike Ybarra was pleased with, having played quite a few hours.

The announcement of this game was the first positive event since the trials and scandals in the company, which have been going on for about six months. Also on the back of the news that Microsoft is buying Blizzard, it raised the morale of the company’s employees, as well as delighted the players who hope that they will soon see new games and updates to old ones from their favorite game studio.

It is worth noting that for almost five years that the development of a new game lasts, the project was not developed so actively and most likely not by a large number of developers. But now, as Mike Ybarra said, the company intends to expand the development team to speed up the development process. Now the early stages of development have already been completed, such as: inventing a concept, creating an engine and testing it, creating initial builds in order to evaluate the mechanics of a new game. Therefore, based on the vacancies presented at the announcement, it should be assumed that at the moment, active work is underway on the visual design of the game and filling the world in the new universe.

You don’t need to worry about the visual part of the new game, because one of the old Blizzard employees, Samwise Didier, is working on it. He has been with the company for over 30 years and has been involved in the creation of all Blizzard projects and is not going to leave this position yet. Samwise is now Senior Artistic Director, so you can be sure that the visual component of the new Blizzard universe will be at a high level.
